‘Vikings’ Back To Conquer Comic-Con
Barricade the walls of the San Diego Convention Center and load the catapults. History’s Vikings is returning to Comic-Con with a panel plus other events sure to be memorialized in the sagas, we’ve learned.
The official Vikings SDCC panel is set for July 10 with stars Travis Fimmel, Katheryn Winnick, Clive Standen, and Alexander Ludwig in attendance. With promises of a preview of the upcoming and currently shooting fourth season, the actors will be joined in Room 6A by Vikings creator and writer Michael Hirst along with History EVP Dirk Hoogstra.
If that’s not enough for fans of the historical drama, they will also have the chance to win a sunset cruise in the harbor on a recreated and fully kitted Vikings longboat with the cast of the show.
Additionally, History is bringing more Vikings both on the convention floor and in SD’s Gaslamp district this year. At Booth #437, fans will get the chance to enter Valhalla with The Bludgeon Booth. It’s an Instagram booth made of glass and wood that will be equipped with slow-mo cameras where fans can dress in authentic costumes, choose an opponent and pretend to unleash medieval wrath with clips from the show. There’ll be two fan events in downtown San Diego with the distribution of thousands of period specific horn-shaped beer mugs for fans to use at select bars throughout the Gaslamp district. A Vikings longship will be cruising through the district and the rest of downtown, and, as we mentioned before, through San Diego harbor.
Vikings has nabbed healthy ratings for History, with the April 23rd concluding Season 3 averaging 2.45 million viewers per episode. Season 4 is filming in Ireland, and is set to air in 2016.
