We still don’t have the video from the panel so here’s an article about some details.
DEADLINE – Things were very spirited today – in more ways than one – as History’s marquee original series Vikings invaded Room 6BCF at Comic-Con this afternoon to whet fans’ appetites for the upcoming second half of Season 4, which returns to television this fall in advance of the 20-episode 5th season set to air in 2017. A very admittedly drunk Travis Fimmel (Ragnar) was joined by co-stars Katheryn Winnick (Lagertha), Clive Standen (Rollo), Gustaf Skarsgard (Floki), Alyssa Sutherland (Aslaug) and Alexander Ludwig (Bjorn) on the panel, along with writer-creator Michael Hirst for a discussion of the shocking events of the first half of season 4, what’s to come in the second half, how Hirst helped with an archaeological dig in England that may have discovered the grave of Ivar the Boneless, and more.
The panel also unveiled a new trailer for season 4, part 2, which you can see above in all its pillaging and murderous glory.
VARIETY – History released a new trailer for the second half of “Vikings” season four Friday at Comic Con. The trailer shows the aftermath of Ragnar Lothbrok’s (Travis Fimmel) return.
The beginning of season four featured a chronological leap forward, setting up Ragnar’s return to his family with his sons having grown to be young men. The first half of season four featured Ragnar and his Viking warriors suffering defeat at the hands of King Rollo and his Frankish forces, and Ragnar exiling himself from Kattegat and leaving his sons to grow up with out him.
“In my mind this was always a show about Ragnaar Lothbrok and his sons,” series creator and executive producer Michael Hirst said. He added, “The jump forward in time gave him the opportunity to lick his wounds and his sons to become men.”
Hirst also offered hints about future story that may appear in the second half of season four and in season five.
“If I was a fan of the show instead of the writer, the thing that I would really want to see is another meeting between King Ecbert and Ragnar,” said Wright.
He also teased a possible reunion for Ragnar and Lagertha.
“Nothing would make me happier” thank to see Ragnar and Lagertha together again, Wright said when asked about the possibility of seeing the two reunited.
