30 of TV’s Supporting Acting Stars Sit for Epic Class Photo

June 03, 2016

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER – Yeah yeah, someone else is always the prom king or queen, or top of the class. But these 30 stars, gathered together on April 15 in L.A., comprise this year’s Emmy supporting actor contenders, second to none and most likely to succeed.

Getting 30 of TV’s hardest-working actors in a room for three hours was no small or easy feat. But when they all descended on Milk Studios in Hollywood on a Friday in April — some literally just having flown in from London, New York, Portland and other far-off sets — they all proceeded to geek over on each other. Sterling K. Brown, who played Christopher Darden in The People v. O.J. Simpson, received a politician’s share of handshakes and requests for selfies. Daredevil’s Jon Bernthal and his dog Boss shared swoon-worthy public displays of affection. Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story: Hotel), Zoe Lister-Jones (Confirmation, Life in Pieces) and Joel Kinnaman (House of Cards) performed a dramatic reading of DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince’s 1991 hit “Summertime.” And Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Vincent Rodriguez danced for a THR Snapchat. By the end of the three-hour shoot, numbers were exchanged, friendships formed. The Supporting Actor Class of 2016 was one for the books.

Alexander Ludwig on Overzealous Fans: ‘People Will Try to Fight You’

May 22, 2016

THE WRAP – “You’ve got to remind them that it’s a TV show — I’m not actually a Viking,” actor tells TheWrap

“Vikings” star Alexander Ludwig admits his role can land him in trouble off set.

“People will try to fight you,” Ludwig says of periodically pugnacious fans of the often violent History series. “You’ve got to remind them that it’s a TV show [laughs] — I’m not actually a Viking.”

Seemingly obvious explanations aside, Ludwig’s experience on the show has been “amazing,” if occasionally “brutal.”

“The freakin’ weather!” the actor exclaimed during an interview at TheWrap Studio. “We’d never filmed in the winter, and this year has just been awful. It’s been the most exhausting, brutal. … The only way we get through it is because we’re all doing it together.”

Enduring the rough circumstances together has brought Ludwig close to his co-stars, particularly his roommate and the show’s lead, Travis Fimmel.

Alexander Ludwig Talks Season 4; Teases A ‘Darker Side’ To Bjorn And Several New Love Interests

March 12, 2016

IB Times – Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) has officially gone over to the dark side.

The “Vikings” actor dished that audiences can expect Bjorn to evolve into a “darker” character when he returns from the snowy woods of Norway in the upcoming episode of the History Channel series.

“He slowly starts to become hardened by life’s cruel circumstances and also becomes selfish by doing that,” the 23-year-old actor revealed in a press call with reporters.

Bjorn has faced his fair share of obstacles throughout Season 4 of “Vikings” from leading a village (while his father [Travis Fimmel] was indisposed) to battling a ferocious bear. But the Northman has yet to clear all of life’s hurdles. In episode 4 of “Vikings,” Bjorn will come face-to-face with a blood-thirsty Berserker who has been hired by Kalf (Ben Robson) to assassinate him.

But Bjorn’s deadly foes only play a small part in his cynicism. During the show’s season premiere, it was revealed that Bjorn’s lover, Porunn (Gaia Weiss), had vanished from Kattegat — leaving Bjorn with nothing but her memory and his daughter.

“I think that Bjorn, when he sees his daughter for the first time since Porunn has left and abandoned him and his daughter, it’s just a constant reminds of how hurt he was,” Ludwig said.

But viewers shouldn’t expect Ragnar’s eldest son to be lonely for long. According to the synopsis for episode 4, the fierce warrior will find a new — and extremely controversial — love interest: Erlendur’s (Edvin Endre) wife Torvi (Georgia Hirst).
