Press: Everything you need to know before the “Vikings” Comic Con panel

July 19, 2017

EW – The Vikings panel at San Diego Comic-Con is always a raucous affair, but expect an especially wild time with the HISTORY series this year. Coming off a radical season that saw major characters depart the series, this year’s Vikings panel will include longtime stars Katheryn Winnick, Gustaf Skarsgard, and Alexander Ludwig, along with new key figure Alex Hogh Anderson (who plays devious rising conqueror Ivar) and the show’s creator Michael Hirst.

But Vikings is also staging a major event: An honest-to-god Viking Funeral, complete with a procession through the Gaslamp Quarter on Friday afternoon. The funeral will culminate at 7 p.m. local time with a pyrotechnic display on a 45-foot Viking longship, on the waterfront behind the Convention Center at Embarcadero Marina Park South. (Anyone who attends the latter can pick up their own Viking drinking horn.)

In addition, the cast will take over EW’s Snapchat account all day Friday for an inside look at all their goings on throughout the day (yes, including that Viking Funeral). Follow along by adding EWSnaps on Snapchat.

Gallery Update

June 17, 2017

Sorry I haven’t updated in awhile. While they were on hiatus and filming Season 5, I decided it was a good time for me to take a break as well. But I’m starting to ramp up again to make sure the site is ready for the new season, characters, and actors! This is mainly individual events and photoshoots of the existing actors.

Alex Høgh Andersen Talks Shocking Season Finale, Learning From ‘Genius’ Travis Fimmel

February 11, 2017

ETWARNING: Spoiler Alert! Do not proceed if you have not watched the finale episode of Vikings.

After the death of Travis Fimmel’s Ragnar Lothbrok halfway through Vikings’ fourth season, the series’ successor seemed to anyone’s game. But after Wednesday night’s explosive season finale, the question wasn’t who will succeed Ragnar, but rather how far he will go, as Alex Høgh Andersen and his character, Ivar the Boneless, took charge.

ET hopped on the phone with 22-year-old Andersen ahead of the shocking finale, where he opened up about what he learned from Fimmel before the star’s series departure, the pressure of joining the History Channel show and his character’s “violent” future.

‘Vikings’ Season 4 Finale: Michael Hirst on Shocking Deaths, Series’ Possible End

February 11, 2017

VARIETYSpoilers for those who haven’t seen Season 4 finale of “Vikings.”

The sons of Ragnar, different and yet all so like their father, have been united by a single purpose these last few episodes of Season 4: to avenge their father’s death at the hands of King Aelle and, by proxy, King Ecbert (Linus Roache). But they all seem to have different ideas about what to do next — settle down in East Anglia, go back to raiding, sail to yet further shores. And it’s all complicated by Ivar (Alex Høgh) throwing an axe into his brother Sigurd (David Lindström), bringing the finale’s main character body count up to three. “Vikings” creator Michael Hirst called up Variety to talk about what’s next.

Will anything happen to Ivar? One would think kinslaying would be a pretty serious deal.
