New Trailer Implies Bjorn Ironside Continuing Ragnar Lothbrok’s Legacy

REALTY TODAY – The new “Vikings” season 4 trailer promises that war never ends, but the preview has not just given glimpses of the upcoming season but clues of Bjorn taking his father’s place once Ragnar passes away.

The trailer of “Vikings” season 4 lays out many scenes that will transpire in the upcoming episodes of the History Channel series, but what is most gripping is the subtle hints on who could take over Ragnar Lothbrok’s (Travis Fimmel) place once he dies. Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig), Ragnar’s son is very prominent in the preview that it is almost certain he would rule after his father dies.

In some clips, Bjorn is seen commanding the army in the name of his father. His leadership skills get highlighted and this could be foreshadowing what kind of a ruler he will be when he takes over what Ragnar will be leaving.

This does not seem to be the only clue the trailer provides. With Athelstan’s (George Blagden) voiceover saying, “One generation passes away, and another generation comes,” a snippet of a younger Ragnar with a younger Bjorn appears. It shows the kind of bond the father and son have and with such words in the background, viewers are almost sure that Bjorn’s generation will unfold soon.

As if the two clues are not enough, the trailer ends with Bjorn, looking just like his father, rising from the waters.

Aside from these subtle hints, the preview also shows the Seer talking about the prophecy that a woman will one day rule Kattegat. It could either be Latherga (Katheryn Winnick) or Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland), Chinatopix said. However, if the prophecy becomes a reality, many fans would bet on Latherga ruling instead of the treacherous Aslaug.

Rollo (Clive Standen), on the other hand, will create more chaos as he marries Princess Gisla (Morgane Polanski). He will be the ultimate epitome of betrayal as he becomes Kattegat’s rival.

Watch “Vikings” season 4 premiere episode on the History Channel in February 2016.
